The World Bank Abuja Country Office seeks applications from professionals, capable of operating effectively in a very demanding and fast-paced environment to fill the position of Senior Operations Officer. The Senior Operations Officer is a member of the Country Office staff recruited . locally and based in Abuja. For day-to-day assignments and responsibilities, the incumbent reports to the Country Director based in Abuja, Nigeria.

Selection Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following selection criteria:
-A masters or equivalent degree in a relevant development discipline plus 8 years of directly related Bank and/or external experience.
-Experience in implementing Bank-financed projects.
-In-depth knowledge of operational, technical and project issues and the ability to address issues across sectors and at the country level.
-In-depth understanding of Bank policies and practices. Good knowledge of procurement and financial management procedures.
-Ability to ensure the quality of portfolio performance management.
-Superior client orientation, interpersonal and diplomatic skills, ability to work with all levels of staff, managers, clients and partners.
-Proven ability to work effectively in complex, multicultural teams in a matrix management environment; supervisory or management experience preferred.
-Superior organizational and logistical skills, with ability to look ahead, address and . prioritize a wide range of issues and activities for timely completion.
-Ability to take initiative and work independently, and to work in a dynamic fast-paced work environment.
-Effective communication skills, including the ability to speak articulately and persuasively, and to write concisely.
-Mature judgment, sensitivity to social and cultural issues, high degree of discretion and tact in handling confidential and sensitive information.

2. Title: Health System Specialist
Local AppointmentLocation: Abuja, Nigeria
Duration: One year Extended Term (ETG) Appointment (Renewable)
Grade: EC2
Qualifications and Experience
-A postgraduate degree (Masters or equivalent) in Public Health or the Social Sciences with concentration in Economics, Public Policy or Management
-At least seven years of progressive professional experience in the relevant field
-Excellent working knowledge of the key issues and recent developments in Health particularly in health sector reform and health systems
- and demonstrated experience of working on - projects/programs focused on health systems, particularly in Sub Saharan Africa.
-Proven familiarity with and experience in international agencies supporting such programs, as well as in working with policy makers and public sector professionals, will be a major advantage · -The ability to work in teams, foster team work and to provide leadership when required ·
-Good communication, analytical and writing skills (including the ability to present information accurately, succinctly and creatively).
-Ability to multi task and prioritize effectively.
-Strong computer skills with good knowledge of standard software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook)
-Ability to work with statistical packages is highly desirable·
-High motivation, willingness to travel frequently and spend significant periods of time in the field, and ability to work independently.
Deliverables
-Quarterly Booster Program Reports highlighting progress and challenges on health. systems aspects
-Supervision mission reports
-Contributions to the aide memoirs prepared as a part of the preparation and/or supervision missions.
-Appropriate analytical and/or technical write-ups, as requiredSupervision The consultant will be supervised by the TTL, and will work in close concert with the Malaria Implementation Resource Team.
